Parish News: VALENTINE AUCTION NEWS
The 2009 St. Michael's Annual Valentine Raffle and Auction will be held on Saturday February 14th. It's not too soon to start planning ways you can help next year! Do you need to pray for someone? If so, we invite all ladies to join us for an evening of scripture, sharing, and intercessory prayer as we lift up to the Lord our families and our parish. St. Michael Women’s Prayer Group meets on Thursdays from 6:45 – 8:30 p.m. in the PLC. Please call the rectory at 926- 7359 with any questions. SCRIP gift certificates are sold in the school office during school hours and after the 10:00 mass most Sundays down in the church basement. Did you ever wonder who… Decorates the Church for each season? Counts and deposits the Sunday collection in the bank? Makes arrangements for parish celebrations (like the Feast of St. Michael)? Plants the beautiful flowers in the church yard? Welcomes new members to the Parish? Plans and organizes the fundraising vehicles that keep our parish solvent? Teaches CCD classes? Cleans our church building? Plans and organizes special workshops and retreats? Puts the address labels on The Mike? Prepares funeral meals? Supports pregnant women in choosing life by providing supplies, equipment and encouragement? These are but a few of the many, many opportunities to share your time and talent with our Parish family.
Prayer for Vocations:
Lord Jesus Christ, you are the savior of the world. Please manifest in your church the Spirit whom you also abundantly bestowed on your apostles. Call very many to priesthood and religious life. May zeal for your glory and for the salvation of the world inflame those you have chosen. May they be saints in your likeness. May our Holy Spirit strengthen them. May they be priests and religious according to your own heart. Amen Someone will be available after each mass the third Sunday of every month to register new members and answer any questions. Please make sure that you return your registration to the parish office. St. Michael School would like to thank Marilyn Bardon for her many years of teaching and guiding our young people. She has been an inspiration to students and fellow teachers and we appreciate all her hard work and dedication. God Bless you, Marilyn!
